Position :RATIONAL FUNCTIONAL TESTER*** 2 OPENINGS Location Indianapolis, IN Length: 6 months Rate: $37/hr A*utomation Lead candidate - Rational Functional Tester experience only accepted. TWO OPENINGS****** * * Responsible for providing leadership in the design/development of product testing/quality processes and in developing testing architecture equal to that of commercial quality software. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Coordinates and identifies test cases to automate. Mentors staff in testing and product quality processes. Maintains current reference architecture and defines, monitors and collects testing/product quality data. Identifies quality needs of functional feature, performance and service requirements/components. Defines appropriate testing methods to employ to assure developed product conforms to requirements and design. Reviews defects in assessing product quality. Reviews an application for testing needs and requirements/design quality. Consults to projects and application support groups regarding quality and testing and may participate in the transition of software and systems into production. Plans/ prepares and executes test assets and executes linkage from test plan to test scenarios and cases. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE BA/BS in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Requires an understanding or organizational impacts and trade-offs of quality processes. 5 years of testing/product quality experience and a quality certification within one year of job placement and prior to moving to the next job level. Additional Job Description Details Minimum of three years of testing automation experience required - Experience working with Rational Functional Tester (RFT) is a must - Experience working with Rational Quality Manager (RQM) and Clear Case (CC) is a plus - Experience in reviewing an application for automation needs and requirements - Experience defining appropriate automation methods to assure developed product conforms to requirements and design - Ability to define, monitor and collect automation data and metrics - Work closely with team members to determine work prioritization, resolve issues and improve project delivery and success. - Provides recommendations on test cases that should and should not be automated - Understands organizational impacts and trade-offs of automation processes - Excellent communication skills both written and oral. - Ability to train business users on how to execute automation test cases. - Ability to manage numerous concurrent tasks under time constraints.
