WELLPOINT Length: 3 months Rate: DOE/hr Location: Mason, OH *Address: *4241 Irwin Simpson Road Mason, OH *Job Description for the Project:* Responsible developing conceptual and logical designs for databases and other components to meet overall information requirements and strategy. Develops conceptual or general designs to solve requirement challenges, including logical design of databases, access methods and metadata presentations. Details all aspects of functional designs, including record layouts, pseudo code, detailed data mapping, etc. Creates and populates metadata and plans and participates in unit testing for data validation. Tests all aspects of metadata for adequacy and evaluates for fulfillment of data requirements. Develops and maintains information strategies to support enterprise business plans and ensures necessary tools and environments are in place to execute strategies. Participates in the definition and shaping of projects. Develops and documents all data related facilities and functions that must be implemented to successfully meet business needs. Performs technical design reviews and code reviews. Design, assist, develop and review code required for the application required by a Sybase server. Responsible for delivery of application technology solutions and data information planning effort. *Required Skills for the Project:* This position requires detailed business knowledge as well as detailed technical knowledge of data administration tools and techniques. Demonstrated experience in using Rational Toolsets (Requisite Pro, Clear Case, Clear Quest, RationalDesign, RAD, RSA, RSM) to deliver systems. Prefer 5+ years of experience in Rational Toolsets. Demonstrated experience with application servers and corresponding development tools, build tools, and configuration management practices. Demonstrated experience in Test Driven Development using test frameworks. Demonstrated experience in OOAD using established methodologies and notations such as UML and using design patterns. Demonstrated experience with large-scale distributed systems using message queues, SOA and related technologies. Demonstrated experience in designing and building systems for high availability, security, scalability and high volume transactions.
