Duration: 6+ months Location: Herndon Rate: DOE/HR *Data Mining/Data Quality Analyst II: The candidate works directly with internal customers to understand the business environment and data needs. Consult with clients seeking to identify, access and extract needed data from storage. Use commercial database management software or data mart tools to drill into stored data and extract usable information. Confer as needed with other technical staff to establish large scale mining, reporting, or data display exercises. Guide or provide technical assistance to database administration projects or operations to maintain enterprise-wide standards and attain more efficient use of data resources. Responsibilities/Requirements: • Take on data quality issues identified by clients or unit staff; assess root causes of problems; and participate in efforts such as data cleansing, data certification, and accumulating documentation to remediate problems. • Fulfill data requests from internal customers, external customers and regulatory entities. Use commercial database management software or data mart tools to drill into stored data and extract usable information. May include scrubbing data as well as validating the results to ensure accuracy. • Conduct data analyses or testing to identify data integrity issues; makes recommendations and coordinates with business partners to plan solutions. • Data analysis skills are a must to assist gathering and solving data quality issues. • Ability to review detailed documents to assess risk and validate data in operating systems. • Ability to present information to management in a succinct manner through reports and metrics. • High productivity and ability to be resourceful to work through issues. • Expected to work with minimal supervision to produce outstanding results. • Escalates issues appropriately. • Mortgage experience is an advantage. • Proactive member of the team looking for opportunity to add value to the team and the business. Contributes ideas that improve team and business efficiency and help execute the solutions. Must Haves • Need someone who is strong with data warehousing and data analysis. Need someone who is familiar with mortgage documents and who can actually work with information in a database (more than a data integrator).
