*SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR - GAITHERSBURG, MD* *Gaithersburg, MD* *Location : Gaithersburg, MD* *LONG-TERM * *Scope: * o The contractor shall be responsible for the daily activities of configuration and operation of multiple business systems which may be mainframe, mini, or client/server based. The business systems are all possible business systems that are currently operating on Internet Protocol Version 4, that include multiple numbers of Windows, Linux, Oracle, SQL Server, Ubuntu based operating systems running web-based and/or client server type applications. The contractor shall be responsible for diagnosing technical and operational problems, and implementing and documenting corrective action to include optimizing system operation and resource utilization, system capacity analysis and planning. In addition, the contractor shall provide technical assistance to government customer in accessing and using business systems. The contractor shall develop and test and implement transition to Internal Protocol version 6 (IPV6). At each stage the contractor shall not continue until the Government has reviewed and authorized continuation to the next stage in the development life-cycle. The contractor shall also be responsible for the following tasks: o Analyzes and develops computer software possessing a wide range of capabilities, including numerous engineering, business, and records management functions. o Develop plans for automated information systems from project inception to conclusion. o Analyze user interfaces, maintain hardware and software performance tuning, analyze workload and computer usage, maintain interfaces with outside systems, analyze downtime, analyze proposed system modifications, upgrades and new COTS. o Analyze the problem and information to be processed. o Defines the problem and develops system requirements and program specifications, from which programmers prepare detailed flow charts, programs, and tests. Coordinates with programmers to ensure proper implementation of program and system specifications. o Develops, in conjunction with functional users, system alternative solutions. Minimum requirements/qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities): *o The IPV6 contractor shall have 5 years of work experience (preferred) with Internal Protocol version 6 (IPV6) to assist customer's implementation of IPV6 to a variety of computing systems and applications, which includes:* ** o a. Windows Server 2003/2008 o b. Linux; Unix; Ubuntu o c. Java; .Net; Cold Fusion; C# o d.
