The Department is currently implementing a new Eligibility system for

The Department is currently implementing a new Eligibility system for
Medicaid, TANF (Financial Assistance) and Food Assistance programs. This
implementation leaves several Department systems used in support of the new
eligibility system in need of upgrading to meet the Federal Service
Oriented Architecture guidance. Many of the remaining systems are
mainframe systems that are being moved into the Client Server domain. Our
Client Server environment is predominately Web (IIS/.Net) and SQL Server.
The SQL environment is being upgraded to SQL 2012.

We are in need of an experienced SQL developer. The experience should be
centered around design, development and implementation of databases used to
support web-based transactional applications. Ideally, the candidate will
have experience supporting real-time, SOA-Based applications using
web-services and a services bus (Oracle Service Bus) to interact with other
systems. Additional experience using LINK would be beneficial. The
activities this person will be involved with include database design
(normalized/de-normalized) using core database objects and
application/functional specific schema's. The day to day activities
include;

1. Working with web (.Net) developers interacting with the database in
the design and development of the application.
2. Database schema/table/column design and development.
3. Creating database objects used within the application.
4. Developing/editing and implementing stored procedures and other
executable's.
5. Developing database maintenance plans
6. Developing automation of database batches where necessary. It will
likely involve developing SQL Server Integration Services packages and
working with batch schedulers to implement in Control M scheduling software.

This multi-year effort is starting with the existing applications within
DHS that have been significantly impacted by the implementation of a new
Eligibility Determination system in support of the Affordable Care Act.
This modernization effort will continue within other areas of DHS and it is
expected that this person will migrate to the other areas within DHS to
support these efforts over time.
