Candidates MUST HAVE experience with SAS Visual Analytics. H1B is ok, but they must have good communication. This will start as a 6 month contract and be extended to 12 months if they are doing a good job. * Job Description* *Summary* This role sits with the Data Management Group and is an integral member of our information delivery team. This role will support the organization’s data strategy for data warehousing and business intelligence. The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer will be the primary person responsible for the design, development and implementation of reports, dash boards and other visuals. The BI developer will work closely with business units to promote and leverage the self-service capabilities built within the Data Warehouse environment. The BI developer has strong operational and hands on experience with data warehouse and BI platforms and will need to be familiar with both operational reporting and visualizations like dashboards. The person in this role will work with business units to define, configure and report on information requests needed for regulatory or strategic needs. Strong knowledge of database management systems, SQL databases, and the use of more or more query and reporting tools like SAS Visual Analytics is highly desirable. The most successful person in this role will have hands on knowledge as a report developer and worked in a data warehouse or BI group. Experience with project development methodologies, requirements gathering and creation will be necessary for this position. The BI Developer will work closely with other team members of the data management group and with business subject matter experts to deliver solutions. The BI Developer will communicate effectively with other team members and management to deliver results in a timely fashion. *Primary Duties* • Works with other team members to source enterprise data • Develop operational, strategic and regulatory reports • Develop dashboards and other visuals as needed • Ensure with other team members that sources of data are optimally designed and of high data quality for reporting. • Provide support as required to ensure the availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards • Provide cross training and assistance to other team members. • Participate with other team members to convert legacy reports (primarily Business Objects) to SAS Visual Analytics • Participate in business analysis activities to gather requirements, workflows and other artifacts. • Analyzes data related issues and identifies solutions to mitigate the issues through automated solutions • Updates job knowledge through industry best practices of data management and Business Intelligence; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations. • Other duties as assigned by the Manager *Essential Qualifications* • Working knowledge of key concepts in data warehousing and business Intelligence • Hands on experience with reporting tools like SAS Visual Analytics and Tableau. • Understanding of data integration issues , familiarity with complex data and structures • Experience and exposure to project management concepts and tools • Demonstrated experience defining data management standards and principles • Strong working knowledge with SQL and database management systems, such as SQL Server, or MySQL • Solid experience with creation of technical and business requirements, user documentation and operations guides. • Good working knowledge of business processes as it relates to Data Management initiatives • Familiar with the following tools or technologies to manage and develop applications: (Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio), Source Control Technologies/Methodologies • Required non-technical skills include: solid communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, Complex problem solving, Results orientation, Adaptability, Self-motivated, able to see the big picture while delivering tangible results. *Qualifications:* To perform this job successfully; an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
