POSITION: On-Site COBOL Conversion Developer Senior Level – Meaning a minimum 4 years relevant experience Staff Augmentation Role Start Date: ASAP End Date: 6/30/18 Location: Albany, NY Monday – Friday Onsite Job Description: Job Duties This position is for a Mainframe COBOL Programmer working to: 1. Develop technical specifications for the COBOL application development 2. Develop applications using COBOL from technical specifications with minimal supervision 3. Test data gathering and development, and data cleansing 4. Code and test application changes that are in adherence with methodologies and practices 5. Create application documentation that are in adherence with methodologies and practices *Mandatory Qualifications:* Four or more years’ relevant experience OR Associate’s / bachelor’s degree in a technical or professional specialty AND At least 2 years of Relevant Experience in the following: 1. Interpreting technical specifications for the purpose of COBOL application development 2. Experience using JCL and IBM DB2 in an IBM mainframe environment 3. Experience developing standard IT work products/deliverables such as test plans, flow charts, documentation, etc. within project timeframes 4. Developing SQL queries for use in COBOL applications, test data gathering and development 5. Unit testing, string testing and debugging of COBOL applications Desired Qualifications: 1. Experience using VSAM in an IBM mainframe environment 2. Experience in CICS development 3.
