UNIX Administrator you must provide systems analysis and diagnostics, trouble-shooting, performance analysis and resolution; act as technical leader to UNIX Systems Administration team members; identify or develop technology for standards, templates and remote server replications and replace existing deployment methodology with this new technology; and design and implement UNIX systems security. You must also diagnose and fix issues identified by current systems; document systems architecture and design; analyze system performance and propose solutions to problems; and manage operating system backup/recovery and planning. Additionally you will perform technical project implementation and system integration; and test, certify, pilot and introduce advanced technology related to server platforms. This position requires a BS in Computer Science with *10+ years of experience in an IT environment; 7+ years of hands-on UNIX *(AIX with HACMP skills, Solaris, Linux) experience; and the ability to lead and provide support to both advanced technical team and non-technical users. You need proficiency with UNIX kernels, networking, Web, UNIX scripting, Perl programming, hardware configuration, support and maintenance, network protocols, system security, various commercial UNIX application and application development cycles. Also necessary is advanced understanding of RS/6000, SUN and AIX/Solaris/Linux operating environment, EMC and IBM Shark Storage Devices, tape drives, NIMMS, and related UNIX technologies; and working knowledge of Oracle, Sybase, UDB, Web applications, Java, Web sphere, IHS, Network Dispatcher, HACMP, NIS, DNS, NFS, Volume Manager and other related UNIX tools.
