*Software Developer :: Denver CO :: 12 Months* *Open Rate* * * *Essential Functions: * - Collaborates with an experienced software development team using agile methods to develop the next generation flight planning system. - The successful candidate will be expected to provide software development activities within the product development group. - Qualified candidates will be able to document developed applications and system architectures, detail designs, class diagrams, use cases and coding specifications. - Tests applications as identified in the development methodology, and creates appropriate documentation. - Performs software troubleshooting and provides problem resolution. - Performs code and design walk-throughs to ensure code standards are applied and maintained. - Documents status reports and records time expended. - Works with various teams including systems engineering, test and product management to support the development of production ready software. - Performs other related duties, including special projects, as requested or required. *Education/Experience:* - BS Degree in Computer Science, or other IT-related education and 7+ years software development experience using agile methodologies. - In-depth understanding of OOA/OOD methodologies required. - The candidate should demonstrate proficiency (5+ years) with system and application design, with experience related to developing a thick-client integrating into a service based architecture using an enterprise service bus and associated messaging. - The ideal candidate will have experience with, the entire software development life cycle including unit testing, documentation of the code and design. - Candidates with the equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. *Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:* - Demonstrated proficiency in the following: Java (6 Years), C# .NET (6 Years), application development in Windows and/or Windows Embedded environments, and XML technologies. - Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of operating systems, including but not limited to Windows, UNIX, Linux, and other systems. - Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills, including making scheduled/unscheduled presentations before diverse business development teams, executive management, and external clients. - Demonstrated experience using diplomacy to negotiate and to persuade others to embrace strategies proposed.
