Need Local to Philadelphia, PA In-Person is Required Sr. Oracle DBA 10g Philadelphia, PA 6+ Month Contract Interview Process: A face-to-face interview will be done. Local candidates preferred. NOTE: The selected candidate will be required to provide their own laptop. Job Responsibilities: * Define and architect a deployment process and strategy for client's RAC configuration for applications that need DB failover * Define a process to migrate from a single DB instance in production to a RAC'd instance. * Define and architect other Oracle High availability solutions (besides RAC) for applications that just need DR. * Work on performance tuning of the Database for high throughput applications. * Should be able to understand SQL code and identify bottlenecks and suggest enhancements. * Design and deploy backup/restore strategy. * Design and deploy monitoring strategy using tools that oracle provides or other SNMP based tools. * Work on mass import of data using tools that Oracle provides. * Required Skills/Experience: Oracle 10g DBA with strong Oracle RAC knowledge of Architecture Deployment and installation scripting. * Experience on Solaris 10g * Oracle 10g DBA with strong Oracle Replication/Streams knowledge of Architecture, Deployment and installation scripting. * Senior DBA with experience in Oracle 10G. * Strong experience with deploying Oracle RAC in production environment with Veritas cluster management. * Experience with migration from a non-RAC'd system to a RAC'd system. * Experience with alternative Oracle failover strategies besides RAC (such as Data Guard, dual writes etc) * Strong experience with relational data modeling and schema implementation. * Experience with Oracle management tools and data load tools. * Experience with performance tuning, security, monitoring and backup/recovery strategies. * Strong Unix scripting skills.
