Client: Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) Position : SECURITY ANALYST position in Austin, TX Location: Austin, TX Length of Project: 9 months Rate: $35/hr A. Monitor all aspects of the NSOC network monitoring and alerting functions, to include associated personnel and IT resources. B. Monitoring the status *of intrusion detection systems and firewalls*, including in-depth analysis of security events C. Validate any attacks against state network systems, assess the impact, coordinate responses, and make recommendations for action. D. Assist in the development of the appropriate NSOC network security monitoring and alerting guidelines and standard operating procedures. E. Responds to DIR Customer technical and analytical inquiries related to network monitoring and alerting and SIM system performance. F. Develops and performs cyber security assessments at a statewide level to determine overall security posture G. Reviews results of special investigations, internal audits, research studies, forecasts, and exercises to provide direction for the statewide security function H. Provides technical assistance to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and NSOC Project Manager. I. Oversees the preparation of network security monitoring and alerting status reports J. Evaluates related security project implementations and documents best practices K. Monitors current and proposed national and international SIM security technology and standards; makes recommendations for statewide implementations Consultative experience in information technology, intelligence and/or security analysis Supervisory or project management experience in a technical environment Experience applying analysis techniques to a variety of projects, including Security Information Management systems Supervisory or project management experience in a technical environment** Technical IT Security Certification applicable to SIM system analysis.** -- Regards, Anand Bandarupally Ling Technologies, Inc.
