QA Automation Tester
JOB DURATION: 6 months
LOCATION: Sioux Falls, SD
PAY RATE: $40/hr
Position Description: Experience Level: Bachelor's degree plus 5-7 years
related experience including familiarity with testing automation tools.
Description: Uses advanced knowledge in the creation, preparation, and
conduct of quality assurance reviews and the development and execution of test
plans and test scripts. Works with client to establish and maintain a
consistent test methodology and to resolve questions during the testing
process. May serve as a coordinator for all testing activities on a project.
Analyzes, tests, and certifies application-specific software and performs
ambiguity reviews of business requirements and functional specification
documents. Uses knowledge of applications to provide technical assistance in
identifying, evaluating, and resolving complex test problems. Participates in
planning and directing quality assurance schedules and assignments, and
monitoring project status in comparison to cost/time projections. Logs,
tracks, and verifies resolution of software and specification defects.
Documents all phases of QA process. Researches new products and industry
methodologies and provide inputs in the development of new concepts,
techniques, and standards. May be responsible for designing and distributing
training materials
Contractor shall provide service to include, but not limited to:
a.. Serve as an SQA and functional test automation engineer on the
mainframe application.
b.. Responsible for primary development of regression test plans/scripts
and developing reusable automated mainframe test scripts, using QTP/WinRunner.
c.. The scope of this role encompasses handling the complex quality
assurance and test environment problems, as well as creates, prepares and
implements systems quality assurance reviews for numerous applications.
d.. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, with hands-on
expertise in analyzing, testing, and certifying application-specific software
and performing ambiguity reviews of business requirements and functional
specification documents and writing and executing reusable automation scripts.
e.. Uses advanced knowledge of mainframe environment to provide technical
assistance in identifying, evaluating, and tracking highly complex test
problems.
In Addition, the successful candidate will perform more complex analysis of
business requirements and system specifications.
a.. This would also include writing regression, stress and performance test
plans, creating and executing automated functional test scripts, as well as
testing release projects, specific to mainframe changes.
b.. Performs moderately complex to highly complex test data conditioning,
regression testing and testing validation.
c.. Gives direction and facilitate the integration of testing/SQA best
practices to less experienced analysts.
Minimum Qualifications
a.. Bachelor's degree and 7+ years related experience including expertise
with testing with a very solid hands-on automation tools expertise
b.. Experience with Student Loans banking industry.
c.. Prior programming experience (mainframe and VB/Java)
d.. Experience in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience to be defined as:
a.. 5+ years experience developing reusable automation scripts for
mainframe environments with HP/Mercury Quick Test Pro (QTP)
b.. Proven experience with various testing tools and products such as
Quality Center, winrunner and Quick test pro
c.. Ability to handle multiple projects and directives and work in a
fast-paced, highly integrated and systemic work environment
d.. Demonstrated understanding of project management, test planning and
risk mitigation experience
e.. Demonstrated collaboration skills and ability to work cooperatively
with peer managers to achieve common business goals
f.. Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills and a
comfort level in communicating with individuals and technical and business
groups
g.. Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and the ability to influence
parties with diverse interests
h.. Proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills
i.. Must have proficiency with Microsoft Suite tools for projects
j.. Must demonstrate ability to quickly adapt to shifting priorities and
directions. A solid and dynamic performer.
k.. Proven Experience in developing test plans, test cases (manual and
automated), test procedures, test scripts, and expected results
l.. Proven ability to understand complex test environments and
configurations, and manage testing efforts from planning through execution
m.. Ability to develop and implement industry best practices and procedures
in a complex and high-volume environment
n.. Proven track record managing multiple concurrent testing efforts and
code streams
o.. Influences and serves as a mentor to less experienced staff
