This role requires a combination of technical and interpersonal skills to
fully leverage and tune BMC's Marimba=2E The IT Specialist will manage,
configure, tune, report and innovate creative solutions to deliver software
and patches to workstations and servers=2E The ideal
candidate must have solid functional knowledge of, and experience with BMC's
Marimba suite=2E A foundational background in server architecture
server configuration and workstation and server patch management
*Skill Sets*
Experience with BMC Marimba (One Solid Year)
Languages-Installshield, ANT, Java COBOL, C++ Platforms-MS

*POSITION SUMMARY*
This person will be responsible for the design, implementation,monitoring,
problem resolution, disaster planning and overall maintenance of the client
and International network and systems infrastructure supporting the
E-commerce business. The Network Engineer will be a core member of the
Network Systems team participating in architecture, new designs, redesigns
and enhancements of the network, systems and security infrastructure
*RESPONSIBILITIES*
Lead individual projects and/or participate as part of a project team
Participate in all technical aspects of LAN, WAN, VPN and security
internetworking
projects including, short and long term planning, implementation, project
management and operations support as required
Evaluate and select inter-connectivity hardware, software, and services to
fulfill various businesses needs as requirements develop
Perform network and systems management functions/troubleshooting/capacity
planning/performance monitoring utilizing various network
management/analysis tools
Define internetworking standards and reinforce the continued use of such
within the enterprise network and systems infrastructure
Stay informed with current and upcoming technology on an ongoing basis to
maintain a high level of technical competence in support of future
business objectives as they arise
Interface with various vendors, representatives of business units, and
technology
groups to define requirements and process needed to
provision networking and systems services
Manage service providers/vendors relationships from a project and technology
perspective
Provide technical support, operations and problem resolution of network and
systems infrastructure as required, including 24x7 on-call
support
Provide support and implementation planning for disaster recovery
Prepare and deliverer presentations to a variety of technical and non-technical
audiences
Provided technical guidance and knowledge transfer to peers and support
personnel
*REQUIREMENTS*
7+ years of high availability network infrastructure design, implementation
and support experience with some systems administration background
Bachelor Degree in Engineering discipline or Information System
Certification such as CCIE or related educational experience is desired
Extensive experience and configuration with Cisco IOS, routers, VPN
concentrators,
network switches, firewalls and load balancers=2E
Experience with design and implementation of global server load balancing
(GSLB) solutions for multiple geographically disperse data centers
Good knowledge of various internetworking protocols such as TCP/IP,RIP,
EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, SNMP, PPP, HSRP, DHCP, NAT, IPSec and ATM
Solid knowledge in LAN, WAN, MAN, VPN and network security technologies
Ability to respond quickly, troubleshoot and resolve a network infrastructure
problem in a methodical and effective manner
Proficient knowledge and experience with network and systems
management/analysis
tools such as HP OpenView, IBM NetView/Tivoli/Director, Cisco Works, MRTG,
Distributed Sniffer,NETIQ, Ethereal and etc
Ability to document designs and implementations in detail
Knowledge of Windows 2000/2003, Active Directory, IIS, Linux, DNS, FTP and
SMTP
Ability to work in a team environment or independently with general guidelines
and minimal supervision
Proven written and verbal communications skills, including an ability to
provide a synopsis to management
