Please include the rate and contact details also along with the updated resume. 1) Title: Business Objects system administrator Duration: 4 months Location: Colombia, SC Rate: $50/hr max *SCOPE OF PROJECT* *Background and Summary:* Reporting to the BO Project Manager, and administratively to the Data Warehouse IRM Supervisor, and working under limited supervision, install the BO product, new releases, routine maintenance, and necessary hot fixes. Work with Client employees and contractors to develop, implement, and maintain BO security and audit functions. Set up operational procedures, and routinely migrate BO universes, reports, and dashboards from the Development to the Training and Production BO environments. Serve as a resource to users of the Business Objects tools. It is highly desirable for this individual also to be able to develop reports and dashboards using Web Intelligence and Xcelsius as time permits. Specific Duties and Responsibilities on an Ongoing Basis: 1. Work with Client Operations & Support and BO consultants to complete the installation of the Development, Training, and Production environments of BO XI 3.1. 2. Install new releases, maintenance, and hot fixes to the BO product set as needed, and work with Client Operations & Support to migrate them to the Training and Production environments. 3. Monitor performance of BO environments and take steps as needed to tune environments for optimal performance. 4. Respond to BO issues referred by client Help Desk or BO developers; work independently or log help calls with BO as necessary to resolve issues. 5. Establish and maintain security definitions as needed, including folders, reports, dashboards. client intent is to integrate BO security with Microsoft Active Directory for user authentication. 6. Migrate deliverables (universes, reports, dashboards, etc.) developed by the BO development team and by end users to the Training and Production environments. Publish reports and schedule them for regular runs as needed. 7. As time permits, develop BO reports and dashboards using BO tools. SKILLS REQUIRED: - Proficiency in the Business Objects platform XI R3. Candidate must have completed BO systems administration training for R3. - Business Objects Enterprise XI platform with strong technical knowledge of various components such as Universe, Query as a Web Service, InfoView, Dashboard Manager, Crystal XCelsius, Web Intelligence etc. - Experience in day to day support of operational BO systems, including installation and maintenance. - Experience in working in a Microsoft environment using Server 2003 and 2008 systems and SQL Server 2005 database. Familiarity with Microsoft system components such as Active Directory. - Ability to learn new applications and skills sets. - Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. - Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with business users, management, vendors, and peers. - Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills. Ability to complete assignments on time. - Understanding of deployment methodology concepts including design, build, testing, and deployment. The individual will operate with very limited supervision, within standards and processes established for the client data warehouse and over-all Agency and IRM procedures. With the understanding that the client systems include extremely sensitive and confidential information, position requires complete discretion and trustworthiness.
