Computer Skills/Software:  Experience using Borland Caliber/RM, Caliber
Define IT tools preferred. Knowledgeable with Mercury tool suite. Experience
using Clarity/Open Workbench preferred.
OmniPlus experience a plus.
Job Description: To serve as liaison between the business community and IT
to understand business processes, conduct root cause analysis in support of
process improvements, and translate business requirements into user and
functional requirements. Plan, conduct, and may direct the analysis of
complex business issues to be solved with process changes and information
systems. Apply a broad knowledge of various business processes and functions
and technical expertise to accurately anticipate organizational impacts.
Must be able to facilitate business requirements gathering and definition in
various formats including joint collaboration sessions with business and IT,
targeted Q&A sessions with multiple Subject Matter Experts, and one-on-one
user interviews in order to provide solutions that meet business and user
needs. Should possess business domain expertise in the business unit(s)
supported and understand the systems and capabilities of IT; analyze
business partner operations to understand their strengths / weaknesses and
determine opportunities to improve / automate processes and functions;
assist in business process redesign and documentation; translate high level
business requirements into user and functional requirements and manage
changes to specifications; negotiate deliverables by facilitating
communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to
final implementation; participate in the recommendation of buy vs. build vs.
re-use decisions; serve as liaison with Quality Management to insure test
and integration plans meet requirement objectives; follow rigorous SDLC and
project management life cycle and best practices, comply with internal
Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and other compliance related processes and adhere to
Change Control and Problem Management procedures.
Responsibilities: Works independently, advises less experienced staff, makes
recommendation on projects or initiatives. Reviews/approves project
development and leads project initiative requirements – asks all universal
questions (who, what when, where, how) to define project, estimates effort
hours required to accomplish specific tasks for budget purposes, obtains
authorization; designs project plan, constructs project plan, tests all
areas of project with focus on quality assurance to find all errors before
implementation (methods, risks, techniques, processes/practices/ procedures,
designs, test plans and strategy, spreadsheets of defects, test conditions,
test runs, project domicile, etc.) implements plan, develops and trains
appropriate audience.

Requirements: Required skills:
In-depth understanding of TIAA-CREF core businesses and how they interact on
an enterprise level (OmniSuite application knowledge preferred). Advanced
knowledge of the business area being supported with ability to assist in
prioritizing and scoping projects based on business impact, expected
timeframes, costs, etc. Ability to understand which business processes are
impacted by new business requirements. Advanced knowledge of the IT
organization and systems in use with ability to understand which systems are
impacted by new business requirements. Ability to review business
requirements and discuss high-level options for implementation based on
time/scope/cost constraints. Advanced knowledge of process modeling and
design techniques including Object Oriented principles and Unified Modeling
Language (UML). Ability to identify, justify, and model areas for business
process improvement across the enterprise and within the specific business
area being supported. Advanced problem solving skills such as strategic
planning and enterprise analysis. Extensive experience with eliciting,
defining, and documenting end user requirements. This includes identifying
gaps in requirements, resolving inconsistencies, and prioritizing
requirements. Advanced familiarity in Quality Management techniques such as
test plan creation and use case based testing. Ability to constructively
give and receive feedback as well as manage change
Ability to facilitate a large group (10+ people) to a common objective
Exhibit good conflict management skills and advanced negotiation techniques.
Mentoring junior analysts and team development. Ability to exhibit strong
leadership and teamwork skills in the appropriate settings.



Experience using Borland Caliber/RM, Caliber Define IT tools preferred.
Knowledgable with Mercury tool suite. Experience using Clarity/Open
Workbench preferred.
