Position: Linux administrator
Location: Atlanta, GA or San Diego, CA or remote basis - offshore, - all options on the table Duration: 6 month contract Start: ASAP RATE: Open Details: SaaS company looking hire a senior Linux administrator/Team Lead- Minimum 5 years experience. Skills required: As our primary Linux Systems Administrator you will be responsible for our infrastructure and available 24/7 in the event of an emergency. Your core operational responsibilities include: Good communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills. . Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. . Ability to resolve problems quickly under pressure (eg service restoration due to an outage) . Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment. . Solid expertise in managing large scale server infrastructure using Linux based operating systems in a 24x7 mission critical production environment. . Ability to perform complete (OS, network, I/O, SAN) performance monitoring and tuning. Ability to identify performance bottlenecks and propose resolutions. . 5+ years in implementation and support of clustered environments. . File system maintenance and trouble shooting. . Knowledge of system backup tools and techniques. . Strong understanding of the different storage mediums (SAN/Infiniband/etc). Experience with Gluster would be helpful. . Strong understanding of file system concepts. . Server clustering technologies and methodologies. . Very familiar with TCP/IP networking including routing and redundancy protocols. . In depth knowledge of all seven layers of the application stack . Experience performing server security "hardening". . Programming knowledge/experience desirable. . Memcache and Caching Concepts . Administration and implementation of MySQL . Advanced knowledge of MySQL configurations and deployments. . Advanced knowledge of the Apache web server.
