*DESCRIPTION: * Client is seeking a Cognos Planning for Merchandise Planning Independant Contractor. *TASKS:* Help DW team to install and configure Cognos planning including coming up with technical architecture. Requirement Gathering High level training of tool to Users and 2 Data Warehouse team members (we may send few members to Cognos training) Design Model Build Integration with Data Warehouse Report Design/Building Helping UAT System Documentation Training End users (Users will also go thru generic WBT(Web based Training) on Cognos site) Post implementation support for 2-3 weeks. *SKILLS:* - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. - 5 years industry experience as Cognos Business Intelligence Developer required. - Expert in Cognos Business Intelligence administration and development including Cognos Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, and Business Event Manager. - Expert in Structured Query Language (SQL). - Experience with Cognos 8 Planning a plus. - 2+ years working with relational databases required; Oracle experience a plus. - ETL knowledge and development experience a plus. - Knowledge of Dimensional Modeling a plus. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Demonstrated ability to balance multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. - A record of successful delivery of Cognos Business Intelligence Solutions. - Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to achieve goals.
