. Start: ASAP CISCO Network Engineer Position Summary: The IP Network Engineering Manager must adhere to strong network and system security practices during day-to-day activities. The IP Network Engineering Manager will be responsible for performing system maintenance and upgrades during established off-hour maintenance windows. This person must be capable of independent action for resolution of issues that are encountered as a part of the day-to-day environment. The IP Network Engineering Manager must also be capable of quickly learning new equipment and technologies. As manager, this position will supervise the NOC Technicians. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: . Troubleshoot and repair any routing, switching, CMTS, and firewall issues . Train and develop NOC Technicians . Effectively allocate task responsibilities to appropriate staff, utilizing skills and potential appropriately . Responsible for supervision of staff including, hiring, mentoring, evaluating, and terminating if necessary . Replace hardware as necessary . Develop technical solutions . Conduct system analysis using appropriate analysis models and tools . Understand and integrate state of the art technology hardware and software components associated with LAN/MAN/WAN architectures . Develop technical documentation (Bill of Materials, technical reports) . Conduct site surveys as required . Participate in on-call rotation . Provide on the job training to Junior Engineers . Support Network Infrastructure Qualifications: . Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required . Minimal CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) Certification . Strong routing troubleshooting skills (BGP, OSPF, Policy routing) . Strong LAN Switching and layer 2 troubleshooting skills (STP, VTP, port security) . Experience with Access Control Lists . Understand complex routing protocols . Experience with Cisco PIX firewalls and Cisco FWSM (Firewall Services Module) . Experience with Cisco CMTS 10k CMTS DOCSSIS 3.0 . Experience with Cisco VPN concentrators a plus . Experience with Packet Over SONET a plus . 5 or more years providing engineering support to IT projects . 3 years supervisory experience .
