Position: Linux Administrator
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL Duration: 3 months contract to hire RATE: DOE Details: Installs, configures and maintains the company*s primary computing systems. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server hardware UNIX / LINUX, applications software. Detects, diagnoses, and reports UNIX/LINUX related problems on servers. Responsibilities: 1. Identify any system or process failures, determine the root cause, and correct before the next execution cycle 2. Perform software installation, maintenance, and upgrading 3. Monitor various system and database processes for successful completion 4. Create new Unix / LINUX systems 5. Make complex decisions on overall data storage configurations 6. Develop tuning procedures for new and existing systems, ensuring maximum reliability and performance. 7. Maintain UNIX / Linux systems accounts 8. Maintain Compellent and HP-EVA SAN environments 9. Assist with network configuration / maintenance activities 10. Assist Windows Administrators as needed. 11. Assist resolving incidents / requests as needed. 12. Develop new and maintain existing System documentation 13. Write shell scripts and systems programs to support the data center operations 14. Assist in the development, testing and execution of the Business Continuity Plan 15. Monitor backups of the data center servers, file systems, and databases. 16.
