The Software Developer will participate in the requirements gathering, design, development, packaging, and implementation of software. The Software Developer provides leadership in utilizing a defined software development methodology to develop software and in the most appropriate use of the available tools. The Software Developer may be the Lead Consultant on a project; This position is for a SW Engineer role within the Platform Software and Storage Engineering Development group. This position will be engaged with a development team responsible for delivering a new product into the Teradata portfolio. The skills are fairly broad in that the candidate will be able to act as a DBA for the development team, perform performance analysis, develop and execute test plans, and become a subject matter expert of the product. *SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES The ideal candidate will have a: * • BS in Computer Science or related field. • 5+ years of experience in software development using C, C++ and Java • 3+ years experience in SQL, JDBC, ODBC, XML, Perl and shell scripting languages • Proactive approach in identifying and resolving issues – able to work independently and escalate and seek help when necessary • Strong interpersonal and communications skill set • Ability to technically understand HW / SW interdependencies during the development and test phases • Strong technical knowledge of Computer architecture, including Operating Systems (Linux) and Database SW • SW development background in testing, product release and lifecycle support *MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* • Strong verbal and written communication skills *• US Permanent Resident * • Works effectively as member of a team • 5+ years related experience • Experience with configuring and using shared/clustered file systems such as HDFS or Lustre • Experience with SQL and DBA types of functions • Familiar with system level analysis of clustered system performance issues. • Bachelor of Science in Computer Software or Computer Engineering • Engineering Change Control experience • Experience with integrating of open source technologies • Experience with data movement types of applications *Candidate Requirements* Required Degree: Under-Graduate Industry Experience: 5 years Communication Skills: Very Good Operate Vehicle: No Overtime: No PlanToHire : Yes Resume Required: Yes Additional Equipment: N/A Discipline/Certification: CE, CS Expenses Authorized : No Travel : No Have a Great day.
