Business Intelligence Report Developer Long Term New York Job Description: This role will serve as Business intelligence and reporting specialist. Individual will work closely with Marketing, Sales, Data Mining Analysts and Actuaries to develop complex reports and dashboards to generate decision support information by transforming data into knowledge. Responsibilities*:* q Design, develop and deploy complex Excel Macros reports and cubes using: Cognos 8 BI, experience with Business Objects and SSRS a plus. q Conduct regular and ad-hoc analyses to support company initiatives and strategies. This requires identifying and understanding key issues, strong analytical thinking, the ability to conduct quantitative data analysis and develop conclusions based on analysis/research using the Excel, SSRS and/or Cognos 8 BI reporting tools. q Function as hands-on report expert guiding others in defining and implementing BI solutions. q Work with data warehousing, business intelligence teams and business end users to understand reporting requirements. Create and deploy, streamline and consolidate BI solutions to meet documented requirements. q Write relational and multidimensional database queries to answer business inquiries *Implementation:* q Facilitate the implementation of all reporting initiatives in accordance with the HO Chartis Marketing PMO methodology. q Facilitate cooperation and alignment of CRM and Marketing reporting capabilities with business initiatives. Extend and/or apply standards where appropriate to leverage capabilities, technology, staff, and infrastructures. q Maintain the accuracy and security of the Marketing Reporting Infrastructure by establishing an ongoing relationship with the local DWH Managers, and the operations systems that supply or accept data. q Support the expansion of the reporting functions of the Sales and Marketing Infrastructure. · Standardized Reports · Automation · Self-service User Access · Data integration (Call Centers (IB, OB), Agency Portals, Internet, etc *Communication:* q General Project Status and Issues (Local and NY) q Monthly Planning (Resources, Ongoing and New Requests) q Annual Planning (Business and Technical Infrastructure) Qualifications Required*:* 1. Strong proficiency in Excel, and Cognos 8 Business Intelligence Reporting Suite – experience with Business Objects, SSRS a plus. 2. Excellent command in Structured Query Language (SQL), and exposure to Oracle and MS SQL databases 3. Relevant experience with data centric projects such as data warehouses, relational and dimensional models, analytics and reporting 4. Strong Interpersonal and Writing Skills 5. Creative Problem Solving Skills » Leverage knowledge and experience from varied resources and departments/countries to solve complex problems. Possess the ability to identify and combine technology and resource expertise to tackle complex issues effectively; 6. Ability to work independently and perform parallel tasks (as this is an individual contributor role), with collaborative and consultative skills working with others across the company.
