Location: NJ Interview: phone screen followed by Onsite interview Duration: 6 months Title: Senior DB2 Systems Programmer / Engineer The candidate should preferably come from a financial background and must have the following: Skills: DB2, Disaster Recovery, SMP/E, Systems Programmer Requirements: - Maintain DB2 and DB2 related OEM software - installation, upgrade and migration - Installation of new DB2 subsystem and data sharing groups - Resolving internal DB2 system related issues - DB2 subsystem monitoring and tuning - Work with IBM and OEM vendors in reporting and resolving software issues - Support DB2 Disaster Recovery processes and events - Provide DB2 technical expertise and guidance to the internal DB2 community - Proficiency in DB2 software installation using SMP/E - Strong skills in DB2 software installation, upgrade and migration procedures - Strong skills in DB2 ISV tool installation, upgrade and migration procedures - Ability to create and support DB2/z subsystem environments - Strong skills in DB2 system problem analysis, determination, resolution and prevention - Strong skills in proactive and reactive DB2 subsystem performance and tuning - Strong skills in JCL and overall z/OS processes and procedures - Extensive experience in a DB2 data sharing environment - Ability to effectively manage and communicate with software vendors regarding open problem tickets - Understanding of DB2 Disaster Recovery processes and procedures - Provide off-hours on call support in a 24/7 environment - Strong overall problem solving skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills Regards, A.
