*Title:* DW/BI Engineer *Location:* CA *Duration:* 1+ years* * Client is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Sr. Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence Engineer. This role provides business reports from game operations and marketing metrics data in the data warehouse to management. *Responsibilities:* · Understand the data needs of Business, Marketing, Game Operations, Finance, and Customer Service. · Use the data warehouse, platform database, and game application databases to provide data and reports in the form of dashboards, OLAP pivot tables, CRM system data and scheduled reports. · Work directly with business stakeholders at all levels to gather requirements. · Design, develop, QA and maintain application code. · Build reusable code in scripting languages. · Extend reporting infrastructure to new games, partners and developers. · Generate ad-hoc reports when needed with a clear understanding of business units’ requirements and data. · Help manage daily operations of BI systems and work with third party companies as needed. · Identify data quality issues impacting the data warehouse applications. · Provide estimates on changing and fast moving tasks and projects. · Work with Engineering and IT in cross functional projects and provide requirements on behalf of the BI team *Key Requirements: * · Strong experience (more than 6 years) in ETL, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence application development · Data Analysis experience · Understand business processes, logical data models and relational database implementations · Expert knowledge in SQL (different flavors including MySQL, T-SQL) · Optimize complex queries · Expert knowledge in Perl, PHP, Shell scripting · Knowledge of OO techniques · ETL tools is a big plus · Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, highly data driven, changing environment · Multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines in a timely manner · Exposure to one or more BI suites such as Pentaho, Cognos, Microstrategy · Some knowledge of API development, message queuing, REST, XML, JSON · Comfortable developing in a Linux environment · Solid knowledge of utilities and shell script programming · Good understanding of version control systems such as Git or SVN. SVN preferred · Excel spreadsheets and pivot tables knowledge is nice to have · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Write clear and concise requirements and documentation Regards, A.
