*Big Data Engineer – Hadoop*

Open ended (multiyear)
We need both a full work week (Monday-Friday) and also weekend resources
(Saturday/Sunday) – ideally someone who wants to work 7 days a week.
*Overview:*
The Platform Engineer position is responsible for supporting and monitoring
an Enterprise Data Warehouse.
*Qualifications*
Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferred Master’s degree in Computer
Science/Engineering, or other related technical discipline
• 3+ years of experience working with Big Data platforms and software like
Hadoop, HBase, HDFS, Map-Reduce, Pig, Hive and others
• Expertise in building big data platforms, such as Hadoop, on cloud
infrastructure, such as AWS, OpenStack, and others
• Working knowledge of .net and .com development
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and agile development
methodology
• Expertise in building structured and unstructured database systems, such
as Oracle or RedShift, on Big Data Platforms on cloud infrastructure
• Ability to understand business drivers and customer needs
• Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with many stakeholders
• Strong writing skills to create necessary development documentation
• Ability to communicate technical information in a clear, precise, and
actionable manner to a broad ranges of audiences
• Initiative, dependability, cooperation and thoroughness in a team
environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional attitude with ability to prioritize work, multi-task, flex
between changing priorities, and strong time management is critical in our
rapidly changing environment
• Passion for learning and keeping up with emerging technologies / industry
trends and applying them as necessary
