Standard Job Description Client’s smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Contract Job Title Senior Systems Architect Specific Job Description Involved in day to day backup operations - Restores, restarts, clearing jobs, creating jobs, managing tapes, addressing system issues, backup software issues, etc. Tivoli Storage Manager - Need to be able to install, configure, manage, troubleshoot any issues with TSM servers and clients. Understanding of backup principles including job management, transfer speeds, throughput, VTL, tape, interfaces. 1. TSM Environment Support - Overall installation, configuration and tuning of TSM server and client. 2. TSM Support - Ensure integrity of the backup and recovery environment by monitoring and evaluating the infrastructure and applying fixes and enhancements when needed. Provide advice in TSM operations, maintenance or modifications. Responsibility also includes participation in any audits in regards to the backup & recovery environment, providing TSM statistical information 3. Disaster Recovery Support Responsible for supporting TSM disaster recovery plan as well as participate in tests requiring TSM for restoration. 4. Process Improvements - Better automate TSM administrative processing and disaster recovery testing by developing and implementing scripts to replace manual efforts. Typical Minimums Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14 years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an expert, authority in discipline.
