. Must have a B.S. degree preferably in information technology,
computer science or a closely related field.
. Should have 5 - 7 years' related experience in software quality
assurance testing methodology.
. Must have advanced level knowledge of Unix, SQL Scripting, Shell
Scripting, PLSQL and relational databases (Oracle or similar) and experience
with Microsoft Office Professional and Windows PC environment.
. Must have understanding of file caches, advanced knowledge of
browser configuration,.
. Must have experience working with defect tracking tools (StarTeam,
Bugzilla, HP Quality Center, etc.) and reporting tools (Structured Query
Reporter (SQR)) and database knowledge: database structures and SQL,
including data table information (HP Quality Center) and report analysis.
. To perform this job successfully the QA Software Engineer's
Quality Assurance testing knowledge should include techniques used to test
software applications (test suites and scripts), anomaly reporting, software
analysis, automated software test packages (HP QTP, HP Loadrunner),
functional and system service testing, "black box" and "white box" testing
techniques, and software development data validation functional and system
service testing.
. In addition they should have software development knowledge
including structured programming languages (Visual Basic, C++, Java, Java
Scripting, etc.), service oriented architecture (SOA), distributed
architectures, and object oriented architecture.
. It is preferred they have testing experience within an
organization that has utilized Rapid or Agile software development life
cycles and knowledge of managed care terminology, pharmaceutical and medical
information commonly reported through product applications.
Job Summary:
The QA Software Engineer will ensure internal and external customer
requirements are met by verifying product functionality and performance
against product requirements and specifications. This individual will
execute and track testing on assigned MedImpact proprietary products,
including new products and modifications to existing systems. They will
develop and verify testing documentation, including test plans, estimates
scope and work effort, procedures, test scripts, test results and
hardware/software installation and set-up instructions. Additionally they
will perform evaluations and audits of software documentation and software
processes associated with products under test.
As a key player, the QA Software Engineer will establish and maintain
structured testing methodology and environments and respond to inquiries
from users and technical support regarding functions and operations of
software programs. They will need to identify process improvements, error
trends and/or the root causes and make recommendations for remedies to
colleagues and management. In addition they will present data to and work
with non-technical MedImpact cross-functional team members.
