Business Intelligence Architect

Seasoned Professional (5-7Y)



This position is responsible for the end-to- end design and development of
business intelligence applications and database architectures including
physical data modeling and database design, BI tools and applications,
dashboard development, continuous improvement and optimization of BI with
respect to monitoring, performance, availability, stability and
reliability.



·   A minimum of 7 years experience working as developer in a data-driven
information environment and will also have a strong background designing
and implementing analytic systems, ideally in a consumer-facing or
web-based business model.

·   Highly competent in databases, including Oracle 10g, 11g, mySQL, MS SQL
Server. Knowledge of Teradata, Essbse, Vertica, MapReduct and Hadoop

is a plus.

·   Must have hands-on experience in Business Intelligence tools such as
OBIEE or Microstrategy.

·   2+ years of core database administration experience including
installation, monitoring, maintenance, etc.

·   3+ years of application and database architecture experience including
designing for high availability, scalability, etc.

·   3+ years of data movement using both commercial ETL products and home
grown code.

·   2+ years of data modeling and analytical database design experience.

Must have strong understanding of physical database schema design for OLTP
and analytical purposes, including relational and dimensional modeling.

·   Experience with dashboards, scorecards, etc.

·   Ensure proper monitoring and capacity planning framework is in place

·   Monitor Database Capacity and assist in growth estimations

·   Review database and SQL performance as part of the development
lifecycle and provide support in resolving issues

·   Review physical data models, data access patterns, and database design
as part of the development lifecycle

·   Review weekly database capacity and performance reports ensuring
ongoing health of database design.
