*Duration:- 1-2 months CTH* * * Summary Position Description: * Provides technical expertise in designing, delivering, and supporting solutions for complex business requirements. * Requires ability to work effectively on independent projects, as well as in cooperation with a variety of customers and other technical professionals. * Provides architectural guidance and technical service to the plan/build/run application teams, as well as guidance and collaboration supporting the Baxter environment in conjunction with outsource providers. * Ability to work effectively in a team environment. * Maturity to accept direction, confidence to give direction. * Creativity in addressing technical challenges. * Technical expertise and/or breadth in one or more systems environments and strategic technologies. * Ability to understand and assist in evolution and/or integration of Baxter applications. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience required, including 7+ years in a technical environment, with experience as the senior technical resource. * Multiple certifications preferred. Oracle database skills ** Advanced experience in using RMAN and DataGuard * Expertise with Oracle Enterprise Manager * Expertise trouble-shooting and resolution of production problems and issues as they arise * Demonstrable experience with change management processes and procedures; ITIL practices * Strong Solaris environment experience * Experience with Oracle database upgrades and application of quarterly Oracle CPU patches * Experience with Veritas Clustering and replication products * Experience with Tivoli and other monitoring tools * Experience in performance tuning OLTP and OLAP systems, including performance tuning of Cognos / and user ad-hoc queries * Intimate knowledge of Oracle partitioning (9i, 10g, 11.1g, 11.2g), ability to create and maintain partition scripts using UNIX scripting, SQL and PL/SQL techniques * Proactive database system monitoring: CPU, memory and disk utilization * Intimate knowledge of UNIX, UNIX scripting, Oracle physical database organization, character sets and database parameters for optimal performance in OLTP and OLAP systems * Ability to implement scripts for backup, disaster recovery and integrity checks * Versatile in reading and writing Oracle procedural language: packages, stored procedures, user defined functions * Intimate knowledge of Oracle and ANSI SQL * Practical experience in database replication, backup and recovery * Creativity in addressing technical challenges. * Ability to work off-hours for system upgrades, emergencies. * Team-player who is flexible and able to work with end-users and production issues simultaneously. * Experience running mid-size 24x7 production systems * Experience of managing multiple RDBMS on large systems * Experience of working in a team that delivers a high availability service. * Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service. *Basic Minimum Qualifications: * *Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience required, * 7+ years in a large and complex Oracle technical environment * Knowledge of Oracle 10g and 11g is required. * Preferred Qualifications: * Oracle Certified Professional or Sun Certifications preferred. * Knowledge of Oracle Application server 10g and 11g is a plus. * Knowledge of UNIX, UNIX scripting, Oracle physical database organization * Versatile in reading and writing Oracle procedural language: packages, stored procedures, user defined functions * Intimate knowledge of Oracle and ANSI SQL * Experience in performance tuning of OLTP and OLAP systems, including performance tuning of Cognos / and user ad-hoc queries * Knowledge of Oracle partitioning, ability to create and maintain partition scripts using UNIX scripting, SQL and PL/SQL techniques * Practical experience in database replication, backup and recovery Regards Aman Bhattacharya [email protected] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "American Vendor--IT Consulting" group.
