If yes, then do send me the updated resume and contact details. *Requirement* *Position:* Release Manager/ Engineer *Location:* Fort Lee, NJ *Duration:* 6+ Months *Interview:* Phone Hire *Job Description: * - 3+ years in a release management role - Demonstrable experience managing, controlling and tracking of enterprise project releases and their successful delivery. - Capable of maintaining release timelines for multiple clients simultaneously and communicating status to management. - Must have experience in detailed planning and execution strategies - Experience orchestrating multiple dependencies to a projects completion - Strong understanding of SCRUM SDLC - Experience with agile tools, preferably Rally - Drive proper usage of the source controls systems and oversee continuous and daily code builds. - Responsible for the creation of the build plans, timing and process, ultimately owning these processes. - Lead the Code Development and Promotion Plan leveraging Microsoft's Team Foundation System (TFS) - Lead the Code Testing and Integration Plan leveraging TFS working closely with QA team. - Own the build, deploy, promotion, migration and propagation and publication processes from one technical environment to the next. - Work with SharePoint enablement Teams to develop comprehensive release notes. - Help define "smoke test" for each new build/deploy, as appropriate. - Executes "smoke test" for each new build/deploy. - Deep knowledge with hands on experience in managing a release management process from source code through production release. - Proven ability to manage releases that combine multiple systems across technology stacks that include custom in-house development software and commercial software applications. - Strong experience in the successful management of source code systems with multiple ongoing development streams. - Experience with the SDLC process of continuous integration utilizing industry proven technologies. - Proven knowledge of how to manage the software lifecycle in organizations that utilize agile software development techniques. - Thorough understand of the deployment of .NET packages to application servers. - Experience in planning, executing and analyzing performance testing of web based applications. - Has experience working in complex projects preferably utilizing SCRUM - Experience with Microsoft technologies including .NET architectures. This includes C#, .NET, Windows 2008 and SQL Server 2008. - Solid working knowledge of SOA applications based on Microsoft .NET and Java technologies utilizing SOAP and REST implementations - Must be able prioritize tasks effectively among staff to meet project deadlines and deliverables - Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills - Shows initiative, is a self-starter, able to handle multiple priorities and has excellent time management skills. - Collaborates with the delivery teams and product management to prioritize and scope releases schedules with completion dates for each phase. Monitors progress of each phase by employing metrics and management reporting. - Oversees the management of the source code version control system. This includes user maintenance as well as establishing the folder structure and branches for releases. Creation and maintenance of version directories and release branches. Coordinates merge points with the teams to ensure quality throughout the release. - Establishes clear criteria as the gatekeeper for release promotion in each environment. Ensures the criteria are well communicated through the delivery teams. - Oversees the build process for each platform component utilizing the appropriate processes and tooling to drive continuous integration to optimize quality and consistency in each release. - Develops the release plans in collaboration with the project teams and the business for the production environments based on documented standards. - Works with systems engineering and the development teams to define the appropriate technology stack in each environment. Owns and tracks all changes to the pre-production environments in the entire stack including network, servers, OS, frameworks and business software components. - Overseas the build process and associate tooling for packaging up the releases. Manages the definition of the version control of release packages from development through to production. - Leads the delivery of the automation regression tooling, standards and execution. Insures collection of regression test scripts in the repository and execution of automated regression tests on software after each promotion build. Publishes the results and drives issue resolution. Ensures issues with releases are resolved to completion. - Supports the configuration management process to maintain current release information. This will include population and maintenance of the CMDB for all business software applications. - Writes and maintains written procedures for release management. - Provides visibility to pre-production environments to ensure transparency as to the state and status of release packages. - Drives continuous improvement through the usage reporting analysis and metrics management. - Plans and supports the environment promotions though to production. Ensures that standards are set to support consistency and reliability throughout the lifecycle. - Provides input to the QA inspection process when planning the testing process. Assists with the planning and support of user acceptance testing including hands on testing as needed. - Stays current with emerging technologies, industry best practices. - Functions as an expert resource for problem analysis and resolution, operating as last-level support when necessary.
