Skill : Peoplesoft EPM with ETL datawarehouse xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Position: PHP, pyhton developers Duration: 6 months+ Location: NYC --- A high-profile client in NYC is looking for a 2 to 3-person team that fits the following requirements: * strong PHP and/or Python development skills * experience building and testing SOA applications with lots of complex db interactions * strong experience with TDD (Test Driven Development) * strong experience with Linux system administration and cloud environment * ability to read and understand complex C applications * can work for significant stretches on-site in NYC (eventually some of the work can be done remotely) * strong communication and interpersonal skills that enable to work independently with several engineering and product teams The project involves building suite of complex tests for an existing, rapidly evolving set of applications. * interview product managers and engineers to understand current functionality * *read lots of PHP and C code to understand current functionality* * *write re-usable components to create test data* sets using existing APIs * define requirements for a few missing APIs * write test components to perform 200 to 300 functional tests including statistical tests (e.g. run 1000 tests and see if responses are statistically in line with success criteria) * implement testing framework (we are considering http://www.soapui.org/) or extend test framework we have created * plug tests into existing CI environments (mostly Jenkins) * train product managers and engineers in creating new tests, understanding results of existing tests and debugging reported errors Most of the testing involves writing code rather than exploratory testing via UI. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Description: Systems Analyst – Unix Developer Location: ME Duration: Permanent (G.C / Citizens only ) The primary role of this position is to analyze the business and operational environment and identify procedural problem areas and enhancement opportunities. Position Responsibilities - Meet with user departments' management and staff to determine business requirements and analyze the feasibility of developing solutions to current business needs and/or problems. - *Recommend alternative approaches to satisfy business goals* and objectives with focus on end results. Qualifications 1. BA or equivalent experience. 2. 5 - 7 years of data processing experience or equivalent. 3. Demonstrated analytical business sense and ability to work on complex assignments. Ability to work independently and as project leader. 4. Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks. 5. Familiarity with business and technical environment. Key Challenges 1. Ability to completely design new systems as well as respond quickly to critical situations. 2. *Must be aware of all the implications of changes to an existing system.* 3. Ability to identify feasible new technological solutions to existing business problems. 4. Ability to communicate in non-technical language to all levels from senior management to clerical, yet be able to technically define solutions for implementation. 5.
