Senior Software Developer (Java)
Location: Palo Alto, CA - 12+ Month Contract
Requirements
* 5+ years of server-side Java development
* JEE development experience
* Maven 2/3 experience
* Familiar with Spring and DI usage patterns
* Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns
* ActiveMQ/messaging experience
* RDBMS knowledge and exposure to noSQL concepts**
* Web service development: json, ReST, JAX-RS
* (For extra credit) Experience with search engines and related
concepts
Job Description
This individual will develop new software features associated with
mission-critical applications which are based on leading third-party
products. The services will be a mixture of Open Source technology and may
be deployed on a Web Logic or JBoss application server on Linux. This work
is part of a company-wide, multi-year program dubbed "CleanSheet" and
includes custom code written to run with the Microsoft FAST or other search
engine. This is a senior position, and therefore this person may also be
asked to provide coaching and oversight of one or more junior developers.
He/she will work under the supervision of a technical lead.
Primary Tasks
* Design, code, test, and document new services as well as new
features for the application.
* Modify existing Java code to add new features or correct defects.
* Participate in design and code reviews. Provide design input and
question assumptions.
* Update selected framework components used by the application.
