Job Description
. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent
experience.
. Five to seven years of experience developing and performance tuning
complex Java applications
. Demonstrated experience designing, developing and testing SOA web services
using WebSphere
. Experience using agile and TDD methodologies
. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
. Experience using Hibernate is a plus
. Experience using MQ is a plus
Description
Within the context of developing automated information systems, the ability
to perform the following functions constitutes the minimum responsibility to
be performed by a Senior Application Developer:
. For medium to large project efforts, analyze data, identify informational
or process requirements/needs, identify problems, provide technical advice
or consultation and develop logical solutions to problems.
. Provide leadership and drive change.
. Identify and mitigate risks, escalate issues appropriately.
. Construct detailed design specifications (technical or business) based on
business partner requirements.
. Develop data and process modeling to meet business requirements.
. Code programs to meet design specifications.
. Design and construct data conversion, access or retrieval approaches.
Generate and execute test plans for lifecycle stages. Unit test and debug
programs as necessary.
. Participate or assist in providing architectural design to meet project
needs.
. Define and develop the test and production environment, coordinate the
migration of the system, and/or coordinate efforts with other IT projects.
. Adhere to architectural guidelines/standards and delivery discipline
processes.
. Document the various computer systems enhancements/modifications or
information retrievals/updates and update/create procedures.
. Interact and effectively communicate with business partners and other IT
staff. Act as an information resource by providing assistance and support to
team members..
. Use estimation techniques to provide estimates, deliver according to your
estimates
. Ability to provide on-call production support as needed
