Physical Disk Storage skills: – Understanding of disk hardware architecture, RAID implementation, cache controllers, and disk load balancing Data Security skills: – An understanding of relational database security including role-based security Backup and Recovery skills: – Real-world experience implementing backup and recovery methods involving third-party software (Veritas, Legato, ADSM) Change Control Management skills: – Ensuring that changes to the database(s) are properly coordinated. Knowledge of third-party change control tools such as the ClearCase and Subversion is beneficial.
