| Duties & Responsibilites : | Essential Responsibilities:
• Performs daily maintenance and monitoring of Global wide area networks (WAN) and campus-wide networks per established procedures. Primary focus will be around the Global wide area network.
• Strong knowledge and experience working with of Circuit Providers. Strong knowledge and experience with router protocols – particularly BGP.
• Leads the deployment of resolution to networking/business problems.
• Sets up and coordinates the installation or changes of global wide area network circuits, campus-wide networks, components, and upgrades.
• Implements best practices into established procedures and guides others in the implementation of networking best practices.
• Uses experience in variety of computing environments to guide other members of the networking team.
• Provides guidance to less experienced members of the networking team in performance of their tasks.
• Performs tier 3 network troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Leads the effort to identify trends of network problems and coordinates cause and effect analysis efforts.
• Establishes strategy and policies for system security. Identifies and addresses known network vulnerabilities.
• Creates network disaster recovery policies.
• Works closely with geographies to execute major elements of initiatives such as system installation
Skills:
• Extensive knowledge of networking (TCP/IP), WAN/LAN systems, WAN protocols, MPLS, VPN/SSL solutions, and Carrier Support.
• Extensive knowledge and troubleshooting skills with Cisco routers and switches
• Extensive knowledge of network monitoring tools and their usage.
• Extensive knowledge of security solutions and industry best practices
• Extensive understanding of the latest security issues and threats and best practices and technologies being used to counter them.
• Strong understanding of regulation requirements of networks (SOX, HIPAA)
