Ten or more years of technical experience providing internal/external consulting services to management and technical staff in solving complex information issues. Requires competence in field of expertise, such as technology assessment, feasibility studies and cost/benefit analyses, hardware and software evaluation, developing IS standards and methodologies, and business process re-engineering. Possesses knowledge of the state-of-the-art in information technology and systems management. Current use of mainframe programming languages, and other bank utilities/tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of structured project methodology a must. Strong attention to detail with outstanding problem solving skills. The ability to organize multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Analytical ability. Negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines. 10 Years
Responsibilities
- Maintain, support, tune, enhance the CICS / WebSphere MQ online environments.
- Monitor the performance of the (CICS, MQ) environments and take proactive actions to avert potential
problems.
- Tune the (CICS, MQ) online systems for peak performance.
- Diagnose and resolve (CICS, MQ) system problems.
- Analyze (CICS, MQ) traces, transaction abends and system dumps.
- Assist application teams to resolve application related (CICS, MQ) issues.
- Provide SME support and consultancy to operations staff , application and technical teams.
- Install and maintain (CICS, MQ) software.
- Build and configure new CICS regions and MQ QMGR’s when necessary.
- Define and Install (CICS, MQ) resource definitions.
- Ensure all (CICS, MQ) environments are properly secured.
- Generate and analyze CICSPA performance reports on a regular basis.
- Document all new environments / processes and maintain existing (CICS, MQ) documentation.
- Provide Technical overviews and training to CICS Team members and operational staff.
- Plan, schedule and manage all assigned tasks and projects.
Requirements: Qualifications & Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems preferred.
- 10 years z/OS mainframe CICS systems programmer experience.
- In depth knowledge of (CICS, MQ) internals.
- Ability to interface and collaborate with internal and external customers, cross-functional
teams, management, and vendors to design solutions, resolve problems, and meet
strategic business needs.
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced, highly complex mainframe environment.
- Able to work under pressure to resolve complex CICS/MQ system problems in a timely
fashion.
- Proficient in Assembler programming.
- Working knowledge of (JCL,PROCS,TSO,ISPF,JES2,EJES,VTAM,TCPIP, LU6.2,CICS Web Services).
- Working knowledge of (MVS,CICS,MQ) utilities.
- Working knowledge (CPSM,RDO,VSAM,IAM and DB2).
- Working knowledge of (SMP/E, Unix System Services (OMVS)).
- Working knowledge of CICS Tools and support products such as (CICSPA, Fault Analyzer, Omegamon,
DADS Plus, Intertest).
