*ROLE: DATA MODELLER* Location : New Jersey JD: * *IMS ETL Lead - Main Duties**** Create and maintain documentation around data dictionaries, data models and data/schema/etc. Monitor performance and managing parameters to provide fast query responses to front-end users Map out the conceptual design for a planned data in outline Consider both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users Refine the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model Maintain data standards that ensure the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability Ensure that storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures are functioning correctly Work closely with IT project managers, programmers and vendors Communicate regularly with project management, technical, applications and operational staff to ensure data integrity and security Determine changes in physical data by studying project requirements; identifying data characteristics, such as location, amount of space, and access method As necessary work with vendors to ensure the correctness of data design **** *Skills/Aptitude Required* :**** Ability to work in Agile and traditional development model Strong understanding of Relational vs. Dimensional schema Experience in RDBMS, SQL Server, Oracle, etc. Experience in Unix, Linux, Windows Server 2008 Ability to work with / augment Data Architecture activities a plus Ability to identify issues and risks with data design which may impact performance, integrity, availability and delivery timelines; and cognizance to escalate issues with vendors/management as required. Able to multi-task and prioritize a demanding and varied workload. Strong data design and problem-solving skills. Must be independent and creative in approach to problems and issues and proactive. Extremely organized, excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly in documenting data architecture, logical and physical designs and data workflows. Highly self-motivated with a confident “do the right thing” attitude.
