General Summary:
The Information System Support Specialist (ISSS) position is a technical support professional who works with a team of IT specialists in maintaining, deploying, and supporting desktop and laptop computers and office productivity software for CLIENT employees. This position will also support local and wide area networks, as well as audiovisual equipment and video conferencing system.
This ISSS is primarily responsible for direct technical support for houses and other Branch facilities in Maine and provides technical user and customer service support for officers and staff.
The ISSS must work independently to perform a full range of system administrative functions in a complex IT environment and must be capable of directing escalated problems to the appropriate resources. The ISSS requires excellent customer service skills and strong communication skills. Statewide travel is required.
Essential Job & Functions:
? Provides technical support for:
• Desktops / Laptops of various operating systems
• TCP/IP LAN and WAN networks, including:
Network trouble shooting
Network configuration
• Tier 2 and 3 Computer Support, including:
Imaging, deploying, software provisioning
Troubleshooting and remote access troubleshooting
Secure equipment retirement
• Audiovisual equipment and videoconference systems support (ISDN & IP)
• Basic Server Level tasks such as;
Creating, managing, and deleting accounts
Active Directory and Open Directory Management
? Participates in the development of the Branch technical plans and coordinates activities with IT members, other Judicial Branch personnel, and other agencies with respect to client devices, network, audiovisual, videoconferencing, telecommunication, and other technical issues.
? Installs new equipment and repairs/replaces old equipment in Branch facilities around the state.
? Helps ensure that all information systems operate in a secure, reliable manner.
? Maintains and manages hardware inventory data, including: serial numbers; locations; users; and equipment status.
? Maintains relationships with multiple technical vendors.
? Assists in drafting and documenting department and operational procedures.
? Writes work orders to secure services from vendors and the Executive Branch Office of Information Technology.
? Assists with help desk trouble tickets.
? Assists with presenting information technology training both individual employees and groups of employees at the Branch.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
? Performs other duties as required.
? Significant amount of reimbursed in-state travel required.
Minimum Education /Experience/Training Required to be considered for Employment:
? Graduation from high school(or GED).
? Demonstrated three to five (3–5) years experience supporting Personal Computers (Mac/Apple experience a plus) and:
• Maintaining a large number of client computers in an office enterprise environment.
• Experience with videoconferencing equipment and audiovisual equipment a plus.
? College coursework may be substituted for the work experience on a year for year basis
? Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Skills Required / Desired:
Apple/MAC experience troubleshooting mostly MacBook Pros
Image and deploy personal computers which includes install of software and drivers
Help users with technology issues, videoconferencing issues, and resolving misc. technical issues.
Travel Required between Kittery and Augusta - supporting the court systems - mileage is paid. |
