Duties & Responsibilites :

Overview:
Work to re-design the System including updating it to the latest .NET framework and move data from Oracle to SQL Server.

Meets with users to determine problems with existing applications or operational needs and requirements of a new application. Works with users to define needs/specify information technology requirements, information flow study and methods of work organization. Performs the activities of project definition, system specifications and develops user requirements for client/server systems. This includes conducting fact-finding studies of data and information given by user to identify information technology alternatives or operation improvement.

Identifies alternative design options for the user given the technical environment; Analyze the development cycles processes for potential weaknesses and shortcomings. Detail design, programming, testing, documentation and implementation phases of the projects; and complying with the established standards and procedures of the Development cycle.

Works independently on application development using .NET technology, SQL Reporting and other data management tasks. When required, also serves on development teams with other application developers on large projects performing tasks from design, development, to implementation of the Tracking Applications for purposes.

Identifies alternative design options and their feasibility and develops recommendations for system parameters, including proposed schedule for development, with the goal of bringing projects to a satisfactory completion within the allocated time. Develops all specifications for a new application. This includes report layouts, screens, input documents and database design.

Is able to plan and develop migration steps from existing systems to new systems. This includes moving existing data from the current to newly-created databases, plus identifying problems with existing data and coordinating with end-user and other IT personnel to help rectify problems/system deficiencies before production. Designs centralized and distributed SQL database structures consistent with organization applications, operations and networking goals and objectives.

Co-ordinates with the Enterprise Server Farm (ESF), creates the ESF documentation for any changes/updates/enhancements from start to finish.

Aids in testing applications in house before they hit the staging environment and then into production

Years of Relevant Experience: 10 plus years
Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study
