Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Microsoft systems architect with superior troubleshooting abilities. This department is responsible for source code control, documents, work items, configuration management standards, build and release of .NET websites including related data changes, a project planning system, a time tracking system, server maintenance, server and application monitoring, disaster recovery, policy documentation and enforcement, user support, and user training for all change control systems.
 
A successful candidate will possess detailed technical knowledge of a variety of Microsoft technologies which are described in the "skills" section below. The ability to learn and master new technologies quickly is essential as the person who fills this role provides technical leadership and is responsible for resolving all technical issues in each area.
 
Priority will be given to candidates with Team Foundation Server (TFS) administration and Project Server administration experience.  Skills in ASP.NET programming and C# are a definite plus, responsibilities may include enhancing and maintaining custom software applications written in C#, as well as ownership of each of the components described below.
 
Skills:
Area: Management and Leadership
- Experience in strategic planning of change control systems including configuration management planning.
- Ability to determine, define, document, communicate, and enforce change management policies and procedures.
- Ability to plan, design, implement, and roll-out improvements to existing change management systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Area: Source Code, Documents, Work Items
- Working knowledge of TFS Source Control, TFS Sidekicks tool, and TFS Administration tool.
- VSS operation, administration, and maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of VSS Databases and ability to convert from VSS to TFS.
- Knowledge of Branching
- SharePoint administration experience including backup and restore, security administration, and administration of document libraries.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve TFS, VSS, and SharePoint issues.

Area: Build/Release, Configuration Management, and Change Management
- Experience with Build/Release of .NET websites including experience releasing websites to a production environment.
- ASP.NET experience of web applications written in C#.
- Experience in NANT, MS Build, the TFS API, the VSS command line interface, and Windows .bat files.
- Ability to manage and participate in build and release operations. This includes performing software builds and supporting the development team after hours as needed..
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with .NET builds.
- Ability to finish developing an automated web-based Change Management system written in ASP.NET and C# would be a plus.

Area: Project Plans and Time/Cost Tracking
- MS Project 2007 experience including a detailed understanding of this software.

Area: Server Administration and Disaster Recovery
- A general understanding of Windows Server 2003/2008 administration including administration of web servers and SQL servers.
- A general understanding of Active Directory and a thorough understanding of NTFS file system security.
- Backup and restore of SQL databases for TFS, Project Server, and the SharePoint components of each.
- Installation of software packages such as Visual Studio on developer's machines.
