*Role synopsis    *

The Payment & Rewards Technology Roadmap Program will deliver a set of
technical options for delivering new technology, at lower cost, to our
customers (those who buy our fuel in bulk or use our processing facilities)
and consumers (e.g. those who purchase gasoline at our retail locations).
This is a key piece of strategy work within the business which will help to
deliver the long term vision and value proposition for BP retailing in the
U.S.  The work currently underway is expected to result in the formation of
multiple IT&S Projects which are to deliver the technical options that
result from the roadmap solution selection phase (this project).****

The project requires the services of an experienced business analyst to
help support the selection of a set of the most fit for purpose technical
solutions across a typical retail technology footprint (e.g. cards,
processing, network).  They will be responsible for gathering, defining and
managing business requirements from stakeholders using structured business
analysis tools, techniques and methodologies, to ensure that delivered IT&S
solutions successfully meet those needs, and that business users'
expectations are met.  They will also be responsible for the development of
procurement documents which are required to successfully execute an RFI/RFP
phase.****

This is an IT&S project based role which is to interface extensively with
business teams from EoR FVC Marketing Sales and Supply.   The role will
also interface and work with various IT&S technical teams, Project
Management, Architecture, Development, Testing, Delivery and Implementation
Teams to ensure that IT&S delivers the technical solutions that meet the
Business needs.  The role is likely to last for an initial period of 6 to 9
months.  ****

The candidate is expected to work independent of direct oversight to meet
the project’s objectives and deliver on time.  He or she will be involved
in all phases of the CVP Project Lifecycle****

In the Select stage, the candidate will work extensively with the business
to enhance requirements already gathered and surface new ones.  They will
use multiple techniques to validate these requirements and should expect to
interview key stakeholders, run workshops and work with some autonomy.  ****

** **

They will also develop procurement documents required to successfully
execute an RFI or RFP phase to determine fit for purpose options.
Specifically, they will help to deliver vendor selection criteria and the
creation of an evaluation framework both of which will be used to select
the best option to deliver the business requirements.****

In the Define stage they will ensure that processes are in place to support
the delivery of the multiple projects resulting from the work done in
Select.  They will ensure standardized requirements processes and templates
are used which support the creation of sound test plans.  They may develop
an overarching test approach to ensure commonality across projects when
testing any new or enhanced solutions.  The project’s need for this role
beyond the Define Phase will be determined by the outcome of the Select and
Define Phases.  ****

*Key accountabilities       *

Gather and document both high-level and detail business requirements as
appropriate in an individual or a group session ,managing group
participation and discussions , managing group conflict to work towards
building team consensus.****

Reformulate requirements into a common set for technical and non-technical
audiences.****

Based on the requirements they will own the development and creation of
selection criteria for procurement.   ****

Building on the selection criteria they will create the documents used to
support the procurement phase.  (bid packs, or RFI documents)****

They will develop an evaluation framework for assessing the results of the
procurement phase.****

Build Use Cases from data gathered through a variety of techniques ( I.e.
workshops, work sessions and interviews).****

Assist in the identification and documentation of the benefits of proposed
IT&S projects.****

Verify that requirements are testable and generate testing objectives;
maintain Business Requirements-Use Case Traceability Matrix.****

May participate in all phases of Testing, including QA and UAT.****

Perform Analysis and Document As-Is and To-Be Business Processes. ****

Work with Architecture Groups and/or Development Teams in review sessions
to ensure their understanding of the Functional Requirements are
appropriate to be handed off for Technical Specifications and Design.****

Contribute to the Business Analysis and Consulting profession. (???)****

*Essential experience and job requirements        *

** **

Functional Skills - proven track record in Business Analysis & Solution
Design****

Experience with application development, implementation and support; at
least 3 years in one of the areas.****

Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills.****

Strong Team player willing to share knowledge and best practices.****

Quantitative, analytical, problem solving and process redesign skills.****

Proven ability to communicate effectively with technology staff and
business stakeholders.****

Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.****

*Desirable criteria & qualifications           *

** **

Experience in Fuels Retail****

Knowledge of benefits management processes and development of business case.
****

Experience in a critical thinking environment (I.e. consulting or corporate
strategy).****
