Job description and responsibilities :
Staff augmentation to perform IBM WebSphere administration and UNIX system management functions
Staff will perform WebSphere Administration and UNIX System Administration tasks on Red Hat and AIX operating systems.
-  Work with client’s WebSphere Administrator to configure and maintain the client environment on AIX
-  Provide assistance in migrating and configuring Java applications from SunOne/Red Hat environment to WAS ND/AIX environment
-  Responsibilities include providing web server support for the agency’s developers running mission critical java application. This responsibility includes   troubleshooting java errors, java code, web server errors and database connection issues.
-  Candidate will be tasked with applying software enhancements, security patches and bug fixes to the WAS environment on a schedule basis.
-  Work with the development staff and other teams on a regular basis to determine best approach for new application development (ex. Database connections, Security, External vs. Internal)
-  Candidate will proactively monitor server and web server logs in order to meet service level agreements for application uptime.
-  Candidate will be tasks with maintaining the java migration tool used by the agency developers to migrate code between dev, test, train and production environments. The custom application is written in PHP with a My SQL database.
-  Address and resolve technical issues in a timely manner. If necessary work with vendor support to resolve web server and operating system issues.
-  Candidate will be tasked with documenting procedures for both team members and developers

Specialist Expert
Candidate is able to provide leadership of large teams and/or extensive
industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field with a
minimum of 84 months.
-  Experience in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures, or business applications and products that run on those platforms, beyond that of a Programmer
-  The Authorized User may seek Specialists in the following areas (list is not exhaustive)
-  Backup and Recovery
-  Security

Skills required :
-  Minimum of 84 months of experience as an IBM Websphere Administrator conducting high availability builds, upgrades, WAR file migrations and performance turning on AIX or Linux.
-  Minimum of 84 months of experience doing installs, upgrades, application/code migrations and performance tuning on Non-IBM web servers. For example Apache, Sun One, iPlanet, Weblogic and JBoss.
-  Minimum of 60 months working closely with Java developers to troubleshooting critical Java applications. This includes reviewing application error logs, Java code and making recommend code changes in order to fix critical issues.
-  Minimum of 48 months of basic experience with Unix operating systems. (Disk, CPU, monitoring, file systems).
-  Minimum of 60 months of experience understanding the following web server and application security concepts: ACLs, LDAP, SSL, Load Balancing, Firewalls, Database Connection Pooling
-  Minimum of 36 months of recent experience programming in one of the following languages: PHP, Perl, Java and HTML
-  Minimum of 36 months using scripting languages (ksh, perl, wsadmin) to automate operating system and web server tasks.
