Position Profile: IT SAP BI-BW Senior Programmer Analyst

1.            The BI-BW Senior Programmer Analyst role is to define,
design, develop, test, analyze, and maintain new and existing software
applications and packaged software based on business requirements involving
the various systems utilized to support the assigned area. Develop,
document, and modify software specifications throughout the production
software lifecycle.  The Senior Programmer Analyst should possess thorough
knowledge of numerous application functions.  Competencies include hands on
experience developing programs in ABAP, developing complex software
programs, performing complex packaged software configuration and handling
assignments with little direction. The Senior Programmer Analyst provides
resolution to complex technical software issues. This includes analytical,
evaluation, programming and configuration skills including the ability to
design, program and configure complex software solutions.

2.            Definition of business problems and opportunities, gathering
and documentation of requirements, analysis and organization of information
to support formation of projects, analysis of technology and infrastructure
alternatives and implications.

3.            Architecting, designing, developing and testing of SAP BI and
BW systems solutions to business problems/issues, utilizing Systems
Development Methodology (SDM) on all initiatives.

4.            Translation of a conceptual alternative into a descriptive
model, specification, data flow diagram or other relevant method that
defines the system components which must be delivered, and the method for
delivering them. Includes functional design, technical design and design
validation.

5.            This position will be responsible for project management of
small to mid size projects and sub-projects and oversight of the project
activities.

6.            Provide end-user support to existing users of BI, BW, Cognos,
and Crystal Reporting Systems.This includes troubleshooting, diagnosis, and
resolution of end user problems as well as performing routine system
maintenance checks and corrective actions such as maintaining, adjusting,
and manipulating interfaces to SAP and other systems where applicable.

7.            Prepare comprehensive and thorough design and training
documentation, training subject matter experts, providing
post-implementation support efforts interacting regularly with end users,
engaging in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of production issues,
and providing continuous improvements to all aspects of design and
processes.

Requirements:

•             Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems,
software engineering, or engineering required.

•             Full project life cycle experience as a programmer/analyst
including requirements definition, functional design, system design, unit
testing, functional testing, integration testing, migration and transports
through lower environments to production.

•             Must demonstrate an understanding of how Master Data
functions in BW (i.e. SAP hierarchy) and process implications of making
changes to the Master Data.

•             6-8 years experience in SAP BI 7.0 or similar environment,
including data extracts/uploads, process support and and database
administration. Experience supporting, developing in or implementing SAP BI
Suite is a plus.

•             Must demonstrate an understanding of and experience
developing SAP BW objects including DataSources, Extract Structures,
Transfer Rules, Update Rules, Communication Structures, Rules, ODS objects,
InfoCubes, InfoObjects, and MultiCubes for multiple functional areas.

•             Knowledge Cognos and Crystal Reporting is a plus.

•             Thorough understanding and use of coding methods and best
practices.

•             Strong knowledge of relational database and operating systems
experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle.

•             Experience in interviewing end users for insight on
functionality, problems, or usability issues and needs

•             Experience in software development lifecycle phases and
activities, and project management principles.

•             Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively
with members of other IT and business teams, both written and verbal.

•             Experience developing and completing test cases and test
scenarios.

•             Demonstrated ability to prepare technical and user
documentation for projects and enhancements.

•             Experience working in a team environment with other IT
resources.

•             Experience using the following applications: MS Office suite,
MS Project, and NetMeeting.

•             Self motivated and directed.

•             Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.

•             Ability to effectively execute tasks in a changing and
demanding environment.

•             Strong service orientation skills, patience and a desire to
help others.

•             Experience working both independently and in a team oriented,
collaborative environment.

•             Consumer products industry experience strongly preferred.
