*GENERAL SUMMARY:*
The Application Engineering team resides within Client and Patient Systems
and bridges the gap between enterprise architecture which sets the
enterprise technology strategy and application development which creates
software solutions for the organization. Application Engineering does
this through creating and maintaining the technology roadmap which defines
specific tools and technologies along with their prescribed usage within
the software development lifecycle. Application Engineers will work
directly with development teams to ensure that the technology roadmap is
being met while revising when necessary to adapt to changing organizational
needs.
*PRINICPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:*
· Provide ongoing support to multiple software development teams to
· facilitate compliance with the technology roadmap through
training, design reviews and code reviews while obtaining developer
feedback for future technology roadmap revisions.
· Assist with high-urgency issues affecting production systems in a
· time-critical manner while expediting root cause analysis and
communicating appropriate remediation activities to development teams.
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
· College degree in Information Technology or related field, or
· equivalent work experience
· 6+ years experience in software development
· Familiarity with test-driven development and continuous
integration practices
· Experience with the following technologies:
· Required:
· Java SE
· Java EE
· OO Design Patterns (GoF)
· Spring Framework Core
· Spring Framework AOP (including AOP transaction management)
· Hibernate
· JUnit
*Additional:*
· JMS
· SOAP or RESTful Web Services
· Maven
· Previously designed and implemented multi-platform distributed
systems with large transaction volumes
· Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project
deadlines
· An expectation to continuously learn and implement new tools,
applications, technologies
