- Familiarity with IBM, HP and Sun/Oracle hardware architecture.
- Experience in Installation, configuration and maintenance of IBM
AIX, Linux, HP-UX and Sun Solaris environment
- Experience in Patch and Package administration
- Experience in Installation and configuration of HA environment
using HACMP, VERITAS Cluster and VERITAS SFRAC
- Experience in Configuring and administering Logical volume manager
/ VERITAS Volume Manager.
- Experience in Configuring and administering various file systems
like JFS, VxFS, Pseudo FS
- Experience in Configuring and supporting Domains, LPARs, DLPARs,
VIO Servers, etc.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in supporting and
troubleshooting networking services and protocols: TCP/IP, NIS, DNS,
NFS, LDAP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, SNMP, SSL, HTTP.
- Experience in Shell scripting and programming (KSH, TCL/Tk, PERL,
AWK) to accomplish day to day system administration task
- Experience using various monitoring tools such as Glance, Openview,
Perfview, Top and Tivoli.
- Experience in Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related
issues
- Experience in System Fault Tolerance Design, Business continuity
and Disaster recovery planning
- Familiarity with SAN, NAS and other storage technologies.
- Familiarity with EMC and/or HP disk arrays and attendant software
such as BCV and SRDF
