The College of Charleston is seeking an experienced IT professional to design and implement Microsoft System Center 2012 Suite of tools. This position is responsible for leading the deployment of Microsoft System Center solutions (Configuration Manager, Operation Manager, Service Manager, and Endpoint Protection). We expect you to architect, advise, train, and document all aspects of an implementation. The project will focus on implementing the SCCM, SCOM, SCSM, and System Center Endpoint Protection. You will work with existing application teams to ensure that platforms are successfully deployed, supported, and maintained over the long term. You should have extensive experience designing and implementing Microsoft System Center solutions in an enterprise environment. You should be an expert in SQL Server 2008/2012 and Windows Server 2008/2012.
Responsibilities include:
• Assist customers in gathering installation requirements, develop test plans, and provide oversight
• Assisting customers in gathering information about their environment and help make recommendation on steps to better manage the environment.
• Architect, design, implement System Center 2012 Suite of tools
• Collaborate with business leaders to align designed solutions with business needs
• Develop management reports and dashboards for resource management
• Deploy workflows for common processes
• Grant permissions to allow responsible groups to manage resources and work queues
• Create, modify, and troubleshoot workflows
• Training team members on new technology
Required Skills /Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in technical field
• A minimum of 5 years prior IT consulting experience is required
• 4+ years experience working with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (2012, 2007, 2003) – including architecting and implementing complex designs
• 4+ years experience working with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (2012, 2007, 2003) – including architecting and implementing complex designs
• 3+ years experience working with Microsoft System Center Service Manager
• 2+ years experience working with Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection
• 5+ years experience working with in Microsoft Active Directory Architecture
• Exceptional project management abilities (issues management, team collaboration, schedule, scope, etc.)
• Exceptional documentation skills and attention to detail for documentation (design documentation, processes/procedures, etc.)
• Ability to balance technical value with customer perception and satisfaction, and to balance value-add feature delivery with scope and schedule
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, DNS, SMTP, DHCP, Internet standards and network security
• Experience with creating/modifying SCCM reports
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to address an audience in a meeting setting
• Strong Interpersonal Skills – you must interact and communicate well with large teams
• Solve problems proactively, learn new technologies quickly
• Independent self-starter attitude
• Share skills and information freely
Desired Skills:
• Possess extensive knowledge of service management
• Experience working with a wider array of System Center solutions including Orchestrator, Data Protection Manager, SCVMM, etc.
• Experience with virtualization solutions including VMware vSphere/vCenter and Microsoft Hyper-V/SCVMM
