Thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment. - Experience working with large databases, Data Warehousing and Partitioning is required. - Experience working with multiple database platforms is a plus (MS SQL and MySQL). - 8+ years as an Oracle Database Administrator. - 3+ years of experience working with Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard. - Extensive experience working in a Linux environment, shell scripting and Perl scripting is highly desirable. - Ability to work on multiple projects on tight deadlines. *Responsibilities:* - Responsible for managing day to day operations of Database administration activities. - Regularly analyze database activity to look for tuning opportunities – both at the database and the application level, work with application Teams to identify tuning opportunities. - Define and devise new monitoring, metrics, and alerting strategies. - Ensure enterprise backup and recovery strategies are complete and regularly demonstrated. - Monitor and resolve locker/blocker and dead-lock issues, Identify and kill zombie processes proactively.
