Candidate will have the skills required to install, configure, and support
an organization’s local area Midrange infrastructure including
AIX/Linux/Solaris systems. Responsibility for the availability to all
system users and customers for production, QA, Test DR.
Education/Experience: Bachelor degree in computer science preferred or
related work experience. 5-7 years’ experience required. Skills and
Competencies: Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving
skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. Candidate needs to be
self-motivated and manage time to ensure that they provide the best
solutions to the customer meeting service level agreements including when
there is an issue. Ability to identify, interpret and evaluate system and
network and storage requirements. Knowledge of computer hardware and
software as it related to Linux/AIX/Solaris and virtual environments for
each. Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain and administer
Unix/Linux/AIX and related computing environments including computer
hardware associated with the OS’s including Virtual environments and
supporting infrastructure, systems software pertaining to the OS,
applications software, and all configurations within the environment.
Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations along with On Call
coverage if and when required. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve
hardware, software, or other system issues working with the team and
vendors as needed to follow best practices.**
