Job Description
Hands-on automation engineering role with a primary focus on the implementation
of automated testing solutions. This individual will apply proven analytical
and problem-solving skills to help validate, verify, communicate, and resolve
systems/software application issues through the development & execution of
automated testing suites. This resource should be able to contribute to the
development of new test automation ideas and must be able to exercise
significant independent judgment within defined policies and practices to
determine best method for accomplishing Automation related work and achieving
objectives.
Job responsibilities :
Design and implement re-usable Automation test scripts using industry standard
tools (HP/Mercury QTP or open source tools.)
Design and implement modular and reusable automated testing solutions that
satisfy testing requirements.
Develop functional and regression automated test solutions using HP/Mercury QTP
or open source tools.
Develop and maintain test scripts that automate testing of enterprise
applications through the entire product life cycle.
Create and execute test scripts, cases, and scenarios that will validate system
performance according to specifications.
Produce reports and documentation for all automated testing efforts, results,
activities, data, logging and tracking.
Coordinate with other team members to ensure maximum coverage is obtained
through automation.
Frequently communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant
information to team members and management.
Develop/enhance and document automated testing methodology.
Job Related Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of solid test automation experience in developing
data driven tests and writing QTP functions, Excel macros, VB Script using an
application framework
- Must have 7+ years of IT experience
- Minimum of 3 years of direct experience with scripting/programming
languages such as VB Script, VBA, Perl, Java, C, C#, C++
proficiency with SQL and working with databases
- Experience in the development and implementation of software testing
automated solutions
- Minimum of 3 years experience in software quality assurance best
practices and methodologies.
Functional Area Skills/Knowledge:
Proficiency with programming and/or scripting and in depth understanding of
object oriented design.
Skills in research, analysis, solution validation, and implementation.
Ability to quickly adapt to new environments.
Demonstrated aptitude to learn complex technical aspects of a software
application.
Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem solving skills.
Self-directed with a high degree of initiative, ability to perform with minimal
oversight and the ability to understand complex applications.
Ability to work cooperatively in a group environment to achieve common goals;
ability to build and maintain effective working relationships;
Excellent communication skills (written, reading comprehension, listening,
verbal) required.
Excellent organizational skills.
Good to have recent experience in developing macros using Excel VBA.
