Please mail your resume to [email protected] or call me at 972-756-1212 Ext: 132 *Position: Sr. Oracle DBALocation: Columbia, MDDuration: 6+ Months* *This role will work on developing a brand new Software as a Service (Saas) platform for a retail solutions company.* *Responsibilities: * - Implements, and maintains, ORACLE data bases in support of the development and installation of new systems for data warehouse, E-commerce and corporate systems. - Uses available tools and utilities to provide for necessary DBMS maintenance activities: data base reorganizations, backup and recovery, space management, performance and tuning, and change management. - Performs system administration and system management functions for ORACLE data base systems. - Assists application developers and other clients with data base usage and software development activities. - Maintains and installs ORACLE data base software, ORACLE Enterprise Planning (ERP) software, DBA ORACLE tools and the corporate repository software. - Represents DBA on departmental level technology projects and assumes project management responsibilities for enterprise projects. - Trains and counsels less experienced DBA staff members. - Enforces and maintains corporate data and data base administration policies, guidelines, and standards. - Updates and maintains corporate data dictionary and uses in support of applications development, data warehouse, and end user support - Assists application development and operations personnel in the identification and resolution of problems related to supported DBMS platforms. - Participates in 24x7 on call schedule to provide out of hours operational assistance. - Exercises independence in identifying DBMS problems and determining the necessary resources and activities for resolution. - This includes quality assurance of design, coding, recoverability, data security, and adherence to corporate standards. *Requirements: * - Installing and configuring database systems, software patches and upgrades for Oracle 10g and 11g RAC and non-RAC on AIX UNIX systems - Oracle 10g and Oracle 11g with RAC and ASM experience is required - Must be able to perform routine database tasks without the need for GUI interface - Creates and maintains Oracle userids and security roles - Assists application developers with tuning SQL in applications and Stored Procedures - Controls and monitors disk space allocation for multiple databases - Provides Oracle DBA support and problem resolution support for developers. - Creates, loads, and refreshes databases for testing - Position requires strong oral and written communications skills - Position requires strong AIX skill set - Candidates must be willing to work weekends and other non-standard shifts - Experience supporting Oracle on Windows is a plus - *Regards*, *Vijay* 972-756-1212 * 132 *|| GTalk*: vijay.smist* ||** YIM*: vijayinventit || -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "American Vendor--IT Consulting" group.
