Job Description
Main Function
Sr, Developer role within the development team, delivering highly scalable,
robust, solutions against cost, schedule, quality and time. The programme is
the build and delivery of regulatory reporting solution for delivering Cancel &
Amend program. The user base for the project has global presence across all
Barclays offices.
Main Duties
Design and Implement the solution using Barclays Standards and ensure
application is built using best design practices. Architecture and Framework
development from inception through development and implementation of the
program, delivered as a series of components over phased releases. Creation of
architecture, framework, technical documentation, unit test cases, and partner
with stakeholder for successful delivery. Interaction with business and
technical professionals in multiple governance forums across delivery
lifecycle.
This is a hands-on role and includes proactive involvement in the following
aspects of project activity:
Architecture / Framework design;
Identifying appropriate technology;
Sizing/ Effort estimation;
Development
Configuration and Release Management;
Quality Management;
Person Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree
8+ years of Java/J2EE development experience with:
Expert/Hands-on knowledge of

Java/J2EE technologies,
·
SPRING
·
HIBERNATE
·
DROOLS (must)
·
SQL-Server Technologies
·
Multi Threading
·
Messaging
Working knowledge of Operations / risk & regulatory control / reporting
Experience within a large program.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong background in development within a banking environment (preferably
investment banking)
Ability to deliver. Experience in a structured governance driven environment
Understanding of the full development lifecycle
Comprehensive knowledge of Java/J2EE Technologies, SPRING, HIBERNATE, DROOLS,
and SQL technologies
Proven ability to work within a team environment
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Flexibility
Ability to manage changing requirements in a highly dynamic environment
